BLACK HISTORY MONTH

CALENDAR CONTEST!


2007 THEME: Show what you know

Show what you know about Black History through HPL’s Calendar Contest. Students will draw noted people and events. The best drawings will be published in a FREE calendar. This year contestants will “Show What They Know,” writing a short paragraph to go with their art.

A Contest Awards Program, 2 PM Saturday Feb 24, will honor Contest winners and their families.

Contest winners will be honored at 2:00 pm on February 24 at a special event that “unveils” the new Calendar. Treats and entertainment will complete the program.

WHO:

right hand graphicGRADES 7 and up

HOW:

  1. Pick up an entry form at Hackley Public Library. Illustrate the contest theme: "Show What You Know"
  2. Use a black pen or marker colors cannot be printed!
  3. No photographs from books or magazines are allowed.
  4. Make sure all facts and dates are accurate.
  5. Neatness counts! DO NOT staple, glue, tape, punch holes in or fold your design.

WHEN:

Completed entry forms MUST be returned to the Library no later than FEBRUARY 12, 2007.

WHAT:

Winning designs will be printed in Calendars. Free Calendars will be sent to participating schools. All entries become the property of HPL and will be on display starting February 24, 2007.
