
Children can see their work published in Write for Fright!, the scary story collection written by and for Muskegon children and published by the HACKLEY PUBLIC LIBRARY. Winning stories will be selected from entries submitted October 1-31, 2007. Booklets will be published later in the year.
Information
- Bring entries to the Hackley Library, 316 W.Webster St., Muskegon, by October 31, 2007
- Winning stories will be published in a Write for Fright! booklet and distributed free at area schools and libraries.
- Teachers are invited to send in class assignments. Write for Fright! makes a great creative writing project.

CONTEST RULES
- Entries are due October 31, 2007
- Entrants must be in grades K - 6.
- Entries can be no longer than 300 words. They must include the author’s Name, Grade, School and Phone.
- Poems are welcome, as well as stories. All work must be original. Young children may dictate their story to an adult who writes it down.
- Approximately 15 winners will be chosen. In addition, several Honorable Mention writers will be invited to read at the Author's Party on Nov. 14, 2007. There will be winners in each age category: K - 2, Gr. 3 - 4 and Gr. 4 - 6.
- Entries will be judged for their fresh ideas, lively characters, interesting plots and clear storytelling.
