Underwater Science Discover underwater life with scientists from GVSU's Annis Water Resources Institute. There will be photos and specimens to see up close. The program finale: Kids will make Underwater Viewers to help them study watery habitats.

Outdoor Storytime II "Boats and Books" Hear stories about boats, Sailors and Mermaids at HPL. After the stories visit a real boat, the research vessel W. G. Jackson, at the Annis Water Resources Institute. Grownups must accompany children and provide transportation. Stories at the Library, 2:00 - 2:30 PM, Jackson tour, 2:45 - 3:30 PM (The Jackson is 7 blocks from the Library at 7th St and Shoreline Drive.) |

Z's Kids Club Traveling Animal Show John Ball Zoo's Mobile Zoo brings live animals to the Library. To match our Reading Bug theme, critters will include a scorpion, tarantula, or other many-legged wonder. Zoo docents lead the program and let kids see the animals close up. |

Bug Catcher Workshop Kids can catch, study and release outdoor bugs with these 'scientific tools" they'll make at the workshop. Projects will include butterfly nets, an amazing Bug Vacuum, and a nighttime Moth Lantern. Kids will be able to take all three projects home. |
