BHM Michigan Roots: African American Migrations in Michigan

Presented by Rozlyn Kelly, this program will discuss the migration of Black Americans to Michigan in the mid-1880s, before the Great Migration from the South, with specific examples from Marquette, Midland, and Detroit.  Additionally, Rozlyn will try to include an example from Muskegon area geographic area.

Rozlyn Kelly is the past President of the Michigan Genealogical Council, current President of the Farmington Hills Society, and a speaker at RootsTech and the National Genealogical Society conference.
