Summer of Sci-Fi Adult Book Club
2nd Monday of each Month
Take a journey this summer that is out of this world, with the Summer of Sci-Fi Book Club.
Discuss a different book each month and explore a “Universe of Stories!” Discussions will be led by HPL librarian, Analiese Mattson. Limited copies of the book will be available behind the reference desk, so make sure to stop by and check out a copy! These discussions will take place on the main floor of HPL, in the Julia Hackley Room.

June 10 - 2001: A Space Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke
July 8 - The Fifth Season N. K. Jemisin
Aug 12 - All Systems Red by Martha Wells

Do you enjoy creative writing? Are you inspired by innovative thoughts & ideas? Become a part of 'Left to Write', HPL's Creative Writing Group!
Here you can share your own stories, participate in exercises, and meet other creative writers. This group will provide a low key atmosphere for writers of all experiences. Everyone is welcome, so feel free to tell your friends! Remember to bring paper and your favorite pen.
This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, from 3:30 – 4:30 PM. Free to the public.

Hackley Public Library and the Muskegon Lighthouse are teaming up
to host a special storytime on Monday afternoons in July and August.
We’ll enjoy listening to stories outside and watching ships sail through the channel.
Any children that participate can stay to climb the lighthouse tower for free with the admission of an adult.
Visitors must be 3 feet tall to climb and sturdy shoes are recommended.
