The history of fishing on Lake Michigan has gone through many cycles of boom and bust.  Dr. Dan O'Keefe, Southwest District Extension Educator from Michigan Sea Grant Extension, will lead the audience through six eras of fishing history, touching on subsistence, commercial, recreational, and charter fisheries.  Special attention will be given to recent ups and downs in salmon fishing and the science behind the decision to reduce stocking.
